Making a film is like creating a make believe world that gives an idea of the world around us. The difference is that the make believe world can either be a very normal one, just like the one we usually find around us, but some other are made to suggest some remedies to make this world a better place to live. If somebody asks a question how films are made, the ideal answer will be the way a child creates his or her make believe world with the toy houses, trains, little human replica. It can be said that the child’s world of imagination is the precursor to the films. Film is the imaginative world seen through the lens. The Polar Express is the ideal example of the movie version of a child’s imagination.

Producer, actor, director, screenplay writers are the architect of this artistic creation. If you want to know how films are made, the ideal answer will be it is making the series of images move and tell a story on screen. Before a film reaches the movie halls and enthralls the audience it undergoes a series of different processes.
The first step of making a movie is writing a screen play. Screen writing is considered to be the toughest job done during the process of film making. The success of the film depends largely on the screenplay or the script. A well made script can be the base of a movie that makes people laugh, cry, smile, be sorry and emote in any other way with the actors of the movie. Previously, when silent movie were made things were a bit different. It was much easier to sketch the screen play of the movie. As the era of talkies came and people accepted this version of films with an overwhelming support a whole new way of writing screenplay was invented. Technical efficiency was needed to write such screenplays.
Direction of the film is the next and probably the most difficult part of making the film. The look and the feel of the whole movie is created and tailored by the director only. His work is to transform the screenplay into cinematic form that is a moving form of the story. The writer pens the story. The director not only makes it move, but gives a particular dimension to the way the story moves. That is why it is called a director’s movie. The director will have to find a producer who will fund the production of the movie. As the producer agrees to fund the movie the director will have to look for the ideal actors who can do justice to the roles given to them. He/she then directs the light man how exactly the background lighting can be adjusted, what exactly will be the intensity of the light at what moment. The first and foremost duty of the director is to give a script the screen’s language.
The whole process of movie making gets started once the budget of making the entire film is chalked out. The producer needs to provide the money for giving out the payment of the people involved in the different jobs of the creation of the movie, including the actors.
Obviously the actors are the presenter of the story to the audience. They enact the whole story and present it in a way that people not only come to know about the story, but it is presented with all the emotions.
