The Ebert & Roeper is known to be a television program which features movie reviews and is popularly known as the Movies with Ebert & Roeper. This movie review show is known to feature the famed film critic Roger Ebert accompanied by columnist Richard Roeper and they both hail from Chicago Sun-Times. This show is known to air in organization in the US and also in Canada on CTV. This show is known to be the successor of the show which was hosted by Siskel & Ebert and following the death of Siskel the show came to be co hosted by Rooper. This show during Siskel was known to be nominated for primetime Emmy Award almost 7 times also for being the Outstanding Information Series in the year 1997.

The main aim of the show featuring Roger Ebert from Chicago Sun-Times and Gene Siskel from the Chicago Tribune was to represent the two of the largest papers in Chicago. This show began as a PBS program which the Chicago WTTW produced known as ‘Opening Soon at a Theater Near You’. In 1978 its name changed to Sneak Previews and finally in 1981 this show gained its name of ‘At the Movies’ and this was produced by the hosting pair itself.
The critics again moved to Buena Vista Entertainment in 1986 and the show came to be named Siskel & Ebert & the Movies and the controversy arose about the integrity of the hosts as they were then working for a Hollywood studio and ultimately 1989 the show gained its name as Siskel & Ebert. The popularity of the show increased due to the heated arguments that took place between Siskel and Ebert. 1998 saw Siskel’s demise due to complications in his brain tumor surgery. Following Siskel’s death Rooper was taken into the show as one of the permanent co hosts and the name of the show was changed to Ebert & Roeper and the Movies in 10th September, 2000 and in the following September 2001 the name of the show was changed to Ebert & Roeper.
The show actually became available online by the end of 2006 and offered online access of the reviews of the movies for the browsers to enjoy. The online program is known to have updated its online archive in 2007 June and it became possible for the web browsers to have access to all the movie reviews since 1986. The show’s name was again changed back to At the Movies with Ebert & Roeper by 2007 summer.
